Uber and Lyft SCAM To Watch Out For!

In this video, Sergio and Chris break down a new scam targeting rideshare drivers.

The scam starts by getting your phone number (often by ordering and then canceling a ride) and then texting you pretending to be a rider or Uber/Lyft.

Through texts, scammers are tricking drivers into disclosing personal information, such as their phone number, login credentials, or even banking details.

You can try to spot the scam by looking out for these red flags:

🚩 You Get a Text Right After a Cancellation

🚩 The Texts Have Weird Fonts and Inconsistent Messaging

🚩 The Texts Request Your Full Contact Info or Banking Details

Sergio stresses the golden rule:

Uber and Lyft will never call or text you directly asking for sensitive information.

Uber or Lyft will reach out through the app or your email.

Watch the full video to learn how to stay safe and see examples of what the scam messages look like.
