The gig economy has exploded in the last 10 years with more apps than ever before. Kian goes over some of the best apps in 2025 like Uber, Uber Eats, DoorDash, Instacart and Lyft.

But which one should you drive for in 2025?

Well, that depends on your local market, and your personal preferences! Some apps just perform better in different areas.

  • Winner: DoorDash – The most popular and widely available option.

  • Honorable Mention: Uber Eats – More flexible but less market share than DoorDash, and has a problem with tip baiting.

Grocery Delivery

  • Winner: Instacart – Dominates the grocery delivery space but depends heavily on tipping.

  • Alternative: DoorDash, Uber Eats, and GrubHub grocery delivery if they are popular in your area.

Package Delivery

  • Winner: Amazon Flex – A top choice for package delivery with decent payouts.

  • Other options: Uber - Has limited package delivery features.
