Gigu and it's new cherry-picking tool

SAY HELLO TO GIGU AND ITS NEW CHERRY-PICKING TOOL

GigU believes that drivers like you have a better idea of what drivers need out of these gig-share apps like Uber and Lyft. That’s why they talk with so many drivers to see what benefits they can offer to make your life easier. GigU’s mission is to help drivers create a community instead of a competitive space where drivers are pitted against each other for the space they are working in and the money they are all trying to earn.

GigU believes transparency is essential, not just an optional perk that’s used when the companies feel like it’ll benefit them.

So, what does that mean?

The GigU app helps drivers pick the best fares using intelligent scans, rather than relying on the driver to make a snap decision in a matter of seconds, which is often made while driving.

They want drivers to feel secure in the knowledge that the GigU app is working for them, so they don’t have to use brainpower and distraction to choose the best fares to accept. They do it on your behalf based on parameters that you set within the app.

Perks of the GigU App

GigU works for you. The perks of the app are created with you as a driver in mind.

“Secret Camera”

GigU features a free “Secret Camera” that gives drivers advanced protection and peace of mind while on the road. This camera feature works in the background, and it documents what is happening inside the vehicle, so drivers have protection they control if a passenger claims something that didn’t happen.

“Cherry Picking”

Seasoned drivers are very familiar with the concept of cherry picking offers. This strategy enables drivers to boost their profits by nearly a third. It lets you set your own parameters for what is a good ride or a bad ride. Whenever the ride offer appears, a color grading system shows up on your device, where green is a good job offer, yellow, an average one and red, a bad offer.  No manual sorting, just smart filtering.

No Login Required

You do not log into your rideshare platforms through the GigU app. It does not interact with those accounts in any way. So, what does that mean? It means that you cannot get banned or deactivated from Uber, Lyft, or other rideshare platforms for using GigU because they don’t know that you’re using it.

How does it work? Well, GigU’s interface analyzes the information that pops up on your screen for you once you give it permission to, instead of pulling the data from the account itself. Really important to mention that, no other data is retrieved from your phone, just the numbers needed to analyse the ride offer.

30-day Free Trial

You get to try out GigU for a full 30 days to see if you like it before you commit monetarily, and without needing to put credit card information prior to trialing the app They believe that within those 30 days, you’ll see the benefits are worth the cost of using their app. After 30 days, the GigU app charges you $6.95/month – which you can easily cover from the added profits (25-30% more with GigU on average).

What People Are Saying About GigU

Some people are put off by the idea that GigU is from Brazil, rather than a U.S.-made app. However, just because it was born in Brazil doesn’t mean they didn’t tailor it to the U.S. market. Brazil is one of the largest gig work markets in the world right now, but GigU made sure their app is suitable and ready to work its best through months of pilots in the U.S.

People may also have a bias toward one of GigU’s competitors. However, those competitors use your login information, making you susceptible to being banned from those platforms for using them. There are almost constant workarounds that need to be made while the platforms learn about the new technologies and do their best to block them from being used. With GigU, since there is no login, you can use its perks without that unnecessary worry and hassle.

Others have simply never heard of GigU. Currently, GigU has over a million users across four continents. With a 30-day free trial, there’s no harm in giving it a try to see if you like it.

The biggest downside at the moment is that GigU only works for Android smartphone users. GigU uses the accessibility tools found within Androids to scan drivers’ screens. Apple products don’t allow this functionality today. GigU is exploring other  iOS options, but Androids provide the full capabilities to help drivers function at their prime level of profit-making by cherry picking which rides to accept.

How Do I Sign Up?

It’s a straightforward process. The first step is to download the GigU app for Androids. After you’ve downloaded the app, you will be asked for basics like your phone number:

And verify your phone number:

Then, the app will prompt you for your name, email address, and what category you’d fall under when using GigU.

Now your account has been created. From there, you choose which features you want activated at any given time. Once you subscribe (free for 30 days), you can use all the app’s features available. Plus, you have access to tutorials and help to answer any questions that arise.

After the free 30-day trial, it’s just $6.95 per month to continue using, and you can cancel at any time without any penalty.

Final Thoughts

GigU is a risk-free app that lets you cherry-pick your own fare acceptance while minimizing distraction time while behind the wheel. I love that you don’t have to log in to your rideshare platforms to use them, keeping you from needlessly being banned from those platforms for using tools that are made to help you.

As an Android user, that part isn’t a problem for me, but I know many Apple users will be disappointed that they can’t even give GigU a try. But that seems to be the only downside.

Give the 30-day free trial a try and see what you think. Share your thoughts with us when you do. We’d love to hear about your experience with the GigU app.
